Introducing STEM to your kids
The commitment of families is essential in strengthening the benefits of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, closing the STEM gap and helping children reach their full potential in the field.
However, few STEM education programs currently provide opportunities for families to be involved with their children. As a result, many families are not aware of the benefits of developing skills in these disciplines or how playing and learning in early childhood education can facilitate the retention of new knowledge and skills. Even where parents are confident that their own experiences in these disciplines will be sufficient to guide their children's perceptions, it is beneficial for children to experience STEM through play and in group environments.
